INTRODUCTION
The story of a good elephant and an ungrateful man

REFLECTION
In this story, we see how an evil man was not grateful to the elephant who saved his life. What caused the man to be ungrateful? It was because of his greed to get the elephant’s valuable tusks.

The Buddha said that those who are greedy and ungrateful will never be satisfied. If we are greedy and ungrateful, even if we have lots and lots of riches, we will always want more. There is no end to greed. If we take more than we deserve, we will have to suffer for it eventually. If we have accumulated enough merits, we will always have what we need.
